I’ve spent most of this week going through a ton of photographs I took on a woodland fashion photo shoot which will be on the Blog next weekend – photography is one of my favourite aspects of blogging, as a teenager I actually had a place at art college to study photography, but turned it down as I was worried I wouldn’t be able to make a living from it! First major life mistake that was 😉
So because of my love for fashion, I really appreciate it when I’m given the opportunity to both style clothing collections and shoot them for Designers and it was great fun setting everything up on a crisp and foggy morning a couple of weeks ago. Also a tad spooky to be honest – it probably didn’t help that my model said she always thinks of the woodland area we were in being ‘Headless Horseman’ country!
All the items I styled are handmade by a very talented lady and although I will be posting a fairy tale themed feature, they are all very wearable day-to-day pieces.
In other news, this week my obsession for rose gold has reached new levels and now even spread to my hair….. 3 hours of hard work from my hairdresser + Olaplex has given me glowing locks … I’m just hoping my roots fade to pink and not orange, so we shall see what happens!
I was feeling in need of a pick me up, the last couple of weeks have been very sad as my beautiful little dog died. Everyone thinks their pet is the best, understandably so, and she truly was very special. The moment I met her, this sassy little girl sauntered across the room through a pile of other puppies, climbed up into my lap, flipped upside down and fell asleep with her little teeth smiling at me. My heart didn’t stand a chance – she chose me and I’m so grateful for the 8 years of love and fun she brought into my life. Animals are such a blessing and wonderful part of the family aren’t they?
Back to the Blog – Over the past 6 months I have reviewed various products and now for the first time, my Blog and I are affiliating with a brand – that doesn’t mean they are paying me anything to mention them and I’m not going to start doing this with lots of companies, but this particular brand is pretty cool and as I have the opportunity to share discounts for their products, I decided I would go ahead and do so! They are called Coconut Lane and sell lovely stationary, funky prints, jewellery etc. So apparently this means I am now what’s called a ‘Coconut Queen’?! They work with lots of bloggers so there will hopefully be the opportunity for me to do some giveaways for you in the future. If you’re interested in having a look you can enter bohemiadreaming20 at checkout to get 20% off. They have a pretty Instagram account too.
I can’t believe it’s the end of the month already – have any of you done Dry January? If so, respect to you and don’t worry it’s nearly over 😉 Or maybe you’ve tried Veganism for Veganuary? I’ve been vegetarian for years, but since December have been plant-based, so no dairy etc and I’m feeling pretty good!
So I think that’s it from me, ‘A Fairytale of Fashion’ will be on the Blog next Sunday, then I will be ‘Shopping My Wardrobe for Spring ’ to show how you can get some of the key trends for the new season without spending any money!*
