It’s that weird time of year when the shops are in the process of restocking for Autumn/Winter and I’m feeling like an Olympic runner poised and ready to burst into shopping action as the spending race begins – meanwhile as I wait at the starting line, I’m salivating all over the ‘new in’ section of the Zara website, trying to work out what excuses I can give for needing to buy pretty much all of it!
I absolutely hate the dark and coldness of Winter, but I adore Autumn and a pretty floral dress with a faux fur gilet or biker jacket, thick tights and over the knee boots is totally my thing… but the very end of the summer sales mean there’s still some great stuff around, and if you shop smartly, things that can be layered up in the cooler months ahead PLUS more classic, Designer pieces that can be used year round…. so I’ve got my eye on a real mixture of pieces!
Embroidery is still everywhere and this tunic dress is the perfect item to layer up over leggings or thick tights:
I adore these boots – the contrast between the toughness of the lace up style and the femininity of the pearl embellishment, I don’t think I’m going to be waiting long to order these!
This sequined blazer is actually made from a tweed fabric which is a winter classic, plus daytime metallics are very in again this year, so this would be a great investment.
Burgundy mixes in well with a surprising number of different colours, so is a great alternative to black and this bag would be the perfect Autumn companion to many an outfit.
I love a biker jacket and going for a coloured one changes up a classic look – I’m loving this dark green which I think looks far more expensive than it is and the cool toned, gold hardware is unusual!
Sunglasses – I use them all year round and they are definitely something I think is worth investing a little more in to get a good quality, classic style that’s going to last a long time. I’ve been lusting after a couple of Ralph Lauren pairs which are on sale at the moment.
You can’t go wrong with a classic black bag and this Kate Spade tote is something that will never go out of style!
I only tend to splurge on accessories, because then you don’t have to worry about your size changing and not being able to wear things – but if that isn’t a concern of yours there are some great dresses around!
The perfect knitted LBD for Autumn – this won’t go out of fashion so is really worth investing in!
