As well as the new season meaning new fashion, it also means switching up your beauty products as the cooler months arrive.
Let’s face it, there’s always new beauty and skin care products being released, different things I want to try all year round – in fact the latest ‘IT’ eye palette gets released tomorrow (see below) – but at this time, I usually want to start giving my skin a bit more moisture and my hair needs some extra love too after being on holiday!
So here’s a few things I’m lusting after right now, particularly with the cooler months to come in mind:
I like to switch up the perfume I wear throughout the year and have loved the shower gels from L’Occitane for years, the scent of their body products are always divine! But I have only just discovered they make perfume as well – I fancy something warm and aromatic for autumn, like the Terre de Lumiere L’Occitane Fragrance. Gorgeous!
Clarins Lip Oil:
I’ve read so many good things about this lip oil which comes in a range of colours and apparently smells like raspberry ripple ice cream! I love that it has a little bit of colour to it, gives your lips a nice subtle shine and it’s meant to be very soothing, so perfect for when your lips start to dry in the colder months.
I really want to give the new All Hours foundation a go, to use for nights out as it’s a matte, medium to full coverage and long-lasting – I’ve seen reviews which say it’s similar to the Dior Skin Forever Fluid foundation which I absolutely loved the look of on my skin, but it made me break out, so I’m hoping this might be a good alternative! I tend to prefer a lighter coverage, more luminous foundations but I think you can get away with this sort of finish in the daytime more in Autumn and Winter too.
Charlotte Tilbury Primer:
This Wonderglow primer always gives my skin a really radiant glow without looking too highlighted, so for the winter months when your skin can feel look and feel a little dull, I think this is a brilliant product and it also has skin care ingredients in it so it’s good for your skin as well!
My skin sometimes freaks out when the seasons change, particularly when you put the central heating on and this Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask is meant to be very soothing and was specially developed to combat sensitivity. Apparently it strengthens your skin’s protective barrier which helps keep your skin balanced and calm.I’ve made a point of having a weekly pamper session in recent months and I think this would be perfect to try as winter arrives!
Nails Inc Hand Masks:
My hands sometimes go rather lizard-like in the cooler months… mmm attractive vision I know! But seriously, our hands take quite a beating whether it’s from sun exposure in the summer or the cold in the winter, so I really fancy giving these gloves with a built-in mask a go.
I’ve only recently become a fan of this brand – they’ve been around for years so I was well aware of them, but hadn’t bought any for some reason…. until a friend of mine showed me some of hers and I went crazy for the different shades! They do some beautiful glitter top coats as well as a huge range of colours that will keep any polish addict happy!
I absolutely love their new fall collection which is apparently inspired by 90’s fashions. I’m particularly drooling over the shade ‘Girly Grunge‘ which is apparently a “silvery metallic with a light purple shine”…. yesss please!
Too Faced Mascara:
I’ve heard so many good things about this mascara for so long and I don’t have the longest or thickest lashes, so I’m really hoping this isn’t one of those products that has been over-hyped! I tried the new L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara which was meant to be a budget dupe for this one and I found it very dry and disappointing…. but I think I’m going to bite the bullet and spend my cash on giving this a go!
Huda Beauty Make Up:
The last eye palette that was released from Huda Beauty was a huge success and the follow up to it, Desert Dusk, is being released tomorrow! (the company ship worldwide and it will also be available from Cult Beauty in the UK).
It has neutrals and peachy warm tones PLUS purples which I always absolutely love, the most amazing reddish-rose golds and, like the previous palette, beautiful metallic foils too….I’m drooling!
Ok I’m eyeing this up just as a bit of fun and something thats not too expensive to try really …. Glamglow who are famous for their metallic masks have released the ‘Bubblesheet’ which is supposedly a deep cleansing and oxygenating sheet mask…. And it’s actually FIZZY on your face!
Pantene Conditioning Mask:
I’ve never been a huge fan of this brand to be honest BUT whilst away on holiday recently I was desperate for a hair mask and this was the only one in the supermarket that looked any good…. and oh my goodness it’s amazing! If you do not have thick, super dry and misbehaving hair it will be too rich for you, but if you do, you’re going to thank me for telling you about it!
Lush Bath Melt:
Ceridwen’s Cauldron is meant to be a soothing, anti-inflammatory and moisturising, milky melt with a Frankincense, Rose and Sandalwood scent – which sounds really comforting and gorgeous for when it gets cold outside. I love that you can also use its cotton bag as a wash cloth too.
Also, has anybody tried this supposedly amazing ‘Sleepy’ body lotion thats sold out everywhere?!
Kiehls Body Lotion:
And finally, the Creme de Corps body lotion is brilliant because it’s very moisturising, but it doesn’t leave you with a greasy or sticky feeling to your skin, meaning it’s great to use in the morning before you get dressed as well as in the evening. It has a lovely light scent and is one of their best selling products for very good reason! It’s a winter staple for me.
That’s just a few of the beauty products I’m looking forward to using in the cooler months ahead – do you have any absolute must have products for the Autumn/Winter months?
Let me know, I’d love some new recommendations!
