The beginning of my Christmas ft Shein.
I don’t normally get fully into Christmas until a couple of weeks before the big day, but this year needing to take some festive blog photos, I started getting my decorations out in November …. and didn’t see the point of putting them all back away! So I gradually started arranging everything in the house, finished the tree off on 1st December and it was all done – which is a record for me I think.
Although it all looks lovely, because I’d had everything lying around for a while, I felt like I kind of missed out on some of that anticipation and the big event of decorating you normally get?! So I thought it would be nice to go and see some of the Christmas lights last weekend to get me more in the spirit of things and it definitely did!
There’s a really cute mini arcade on the outskirts of town where there just happens to also be a brilliant spirits shop and bar that sells over 200 different varieties of whiskey, rum and gin, plus they do great coffee too… so I was able to sit in there sheltering from the drizzly rain, under beautiful nets of fairy lights while sipping on a frothy cappuccino and a rather nice warming shot of whiskey!
Also to keep me warm I had this lovely blanket coat from Shein, which they very kindly sent me …
… and I do love a patterned/statement coat in the winter with something simple underneath and I chose this coat because I fancied adding a bit of checked pattern to my wardrobe this year!
I also liked the fact it’s over sized and open, so smart but casual at the same time. It feels lovely and soft and as the ‘blanket’ name suggests, it literally is like wearing a throw, so perfect for popping on for milder winter days.

I’ve tried the coat with a wide waist belt over the top too and that looked really cool, so I will definitely be doing that of an evening.
I’ve mentioned Shein in my blogs before because they do absolutely brilliant dupes for designer bags – here. They are an affordable clothing company who seem very reliable with both their deliveries, quality of items and returns… and although they ship from outside of the UK, there aren’t any customs charges when the items arrive.
Some other coats from Shein I’m loving the look of:
** My one tip would be know your size in centimetres when you start looking because each individual item has its own measurements, so you may be a medium in one style and a large in another – check each item before putting it in your shopping basket!
So back to sparkle …. I loved the decorations on the outskirts of our town because they’re quite simple and subtle… are there lots of lovely ones where you are?
I hope you are enjoying preparing for Christmas – next weekend I’ve got some absolutely delicious, festive coffee recipes! A normal coffee just hasn’t cut it for me since I tried them!
