Spring is well and truly here and a nice Summer is on its way …. we hope?!! … so I’ve picked out 10 items I’d like to add to my wardrobe which will mix in well with everything else, can be worn layered on cooler days, all throughout the Summer and probably until the end of Autumn too!
They’re all budget items, from £7.99, with nothing costing more than £27.99.
I regularly work with an online clothing company called Shein and each time I’ve had compliments about my outfits both here and on Instagram… so when they asked if I’d be interested in featuring some of their Summer fashion I said yes straight away.
I think the key to wearing budget fashion is double checking the sizing for each individual item before you order, having good accessories and mixing the items up with other pieces that were more of an investment … and that way you can create the appearance of a much more expensive look.
So here’s my top 10 Summer fashion wardrobe wish list and as usual, click the pic or price to shop:
The ‘IT’ bag of the season:
If you haven’t noticed everyone carrying these round straw bags, where have you been?! At first I wasn’t too keen but they’ve grown on me and I like the pale tone of this one.
A cute bikini:
I’m quite partial to a one piece at the moment, but I do find them a bit too hot if you are actually away on holiday.
I like the shape of this one as the top isn’t too revealing and I love the contrasting stripes and florals.
Until recently I’d never worn one of these because I’m not a big fan of shorts but I bought a slightly longer line one to try and I absolutely love it, so I would now like a few more!
This one would look nice of an evening with tights underneath too.
A daytime jumpsuit:
Apart from the inconvenience when you want to go to the loo (!) I do love wearing a jumpsuit, but I think the cut of them is important because the trouser part can be unflattering.
This is the perfect shape though, the stripes will elongate your body too and I love the asymmetric top.
A classic summer maxi:
This dress is so versatile, with the pretty pastels tone and floral print it could be worn to a wedding or garden party with some glamorous, metallic accessories or dressed down with gladiator sandals for a chic daytime look.
A ruffled midi:
This dress looks very Zara-like to me with both its colour and cut.
You could wear this on so many occasions, day or night and I love to have a really bright, standout piece as an option in the Summer months!
An Evening jumpsuit:
I wasn’t planning on including two different jumpsuits but I fell in love with this one because of the rich green colour, beautiful plunging neckline and flattering sleeves.
I think it would be the perfect look for a summer evening, home or away!
A classic white sundress:
This is an absolute must for any wardrobe and I love the scalloped edge and cut out detailing in the cotton fabric.
I just can’t get enough of this shape whether it is for tops or dresses and this is super striking with its oversized bow and big sleeves which is bang on trend and perfect to dress up a simple pair of jeans.
I find plain T-shirts boring and slogan T-shirts a bit cliche now, so I loved this little 100% cotton number which is simple but a little different!
