Beauty Tool Review – I Was Sceptical!

It’s been raved about by Vogue, Glamour and Grazia Magazine, won an award in the Teen Vogue Acne Awards  last year and has hundreds upon hundreds of positive reviews online…..  but at first glance I thought this beauty tool was just a modern day washcloth in gimmicky gadget form – and I was very wrong.

This little ‘vibrating’ wonder really surprised me….

The Claims:

“An enhanced T-Sonic™ facial cleansing brush and anti-ageing system.

8,000 T-Sonic™ (transdermal sonic) pulsations per minute ….
delivers the deepest cleansing possible while staying gentle on your skin.

Indulge in a gentle 2-minute daily skin care routine and uncover a more luminous youthful look.

About:

It has 2 sides for 2 different purposes…

1. Cleansing/exfoliating:

“… gently exfoliates dead skin cells, unclogs pores and removes up to 99.5% of dirt and oil that can contribute to adult-onset acne breakouts”.

Soft touch-points that are extremely gentle on the skin.
Ultra-hygienic silicone is nonporous to resist bacteria buildup.
35 X more hygienic than standard nylon cleansing brushes.

2. Anti-aging:

“Lower-frequency pulsations target wrinkle-prone areas.
….. smooths and firms the appearance of the skin”.

Reverse side uses lower-frequency pulsations to visibly reduce forehead wrinkles, fine lines around the eyes and mouth, and leave the skin looking firm and lifted.

The anti-ageing mode also improves the absorption of skincare products after use.

How I use it:

1.Smooth your usual cleanser over your face and pop the Luna 2 under running water….

2. Switch it on – it has 12 intensities of sonic pulsation so you can choose the level of vibration that you are most happy with.

3. Gently move it around in a circular motion over your face – after 1 min there will be a pause in the pulsing so you know it’s time to turn it over and do the anti-ageing bit – I have actually been using the cleansing side for 2 mins because one-minute just seemed so quick!

Then I turn it over and use the anti-ageing side on my forehead (not my favourite part because it makes my head rattle!) then around my eyes and jawline.

4. Rinse your face and your Luna 2 when you have finished (it’s completely waterproof).

I said I was sceptical and I truly was, but after the very first time of using this pretty little gadget, the skin on my face was super smooth ….. and I have to add that it didn’t feel or look rough to begin with!

So when they say it makes your skin look more luminous it absolutely does and I assume it’s the gentle exfoliating process of the little silicone ‘fingers’ – which I also need to say are sooo soft – they feel like velvet.

My Thoughts:

I love using this little gadget, it’s pleasant to use, makes the usual routine of cleansing your face a bit more fun and I love the smoothness it’s giving my skin.

I don’t like the feeling of a traditional, grainy exfoliator so to be able to use something so soft like this -and to do a better job of it – is brilliant for me.

I also think it is amazing that charging it once gives you 75 uses!!!

Now, whether you think it’s worth spending £140 on something to cleanse your face is a very personal thing – I would say if you are serious about skincare and anti-ageing it is worth it, especially with the more heavy duty and long wearing make up we tend to use nowadays.

Also, if you suffer from adult acne or regular blemishes. I would absolutely consider investing in something like this because it’s won specific acne treatment awards and cleanliness seems to be the first key thing you can do to fight the appearance of spots.

I was sent it by a PR company and didn’t expect it to really do anything but it’s fantastic!

For once something that lives up to the hype. It sounds amazing and must be a godsend to those that suffer with acne.

Yes that’s right I think for people with problem skin something like this can be so beneficial!

It sounded very appealing, until I reached the part about the price! How much?!

    • July 16, 2018 / 3:37 pm

Yes it is an investment for sure… I find I’m using less products on my skin now though so I suppose over a year it would definitely pay for itself!

That is a hefty price point! But no more than I spend in my quarterly facials. If this can stretch my facials out to 3x per year and keep skin feeling smooth (makeup looks terrible on dead skin cells) in between, it’s worth it!

    • July 16, 2018 / 3:36 pm

Yes that’s a really good way of looking at it! I used to spend money on facials but do them at home now and have incorporated this into that routine…. there’s no question that makes your skin super smooth 😀
