Welcome! If You Like Palm Trees & Pretty Dresses, Stick Around!

Diamonds & Dresses!

Going for Afternoon Tea is one of my favourite things to do with friends or my mum – and no, it’s not really anything to do with getting to eat cake!..

… there’s just something quite charming, elegant and traditional about it – plus it does feel quite indulgent I guess.

I always like to get a bit dressed up for afternoon tea and one of the first fashion pieces I was sent this season was this lovely striped dress which is perfect for the transitional weather as its light but long sleeved.

I’m a big fan of ruffles, so I’m glad they’ve been on trend for a few seasons now and I love the thin burgundy stripe in this print as it’s always my absolute favourite, autumnal colour.

I don’t make any commission, that’s just an offer for you guys 🙂

So as I’m back in the UK again there are some lovely hotels near me which serve Afternoon Tea, but quite recently a new Brasserie that’s part of the famous Ivy chain opened, so I booked to go there with my friend for her birthday 🙂

I accessorised my dress with items that are quite simple, because I already had stripes, ruffles and lots of hair (what’s new?!) going on… and my new diamond necklace was the perfect thing!

Isn’t she pretty?! You may already know I’m a total magpie for anything remotely sparkly – I wrote about my favourite jewellery a while ago here – so I was very excited to be sent this white gold, pear cut diamond necklace by The Diamond Store, London.

My favourite jewellery pieces are always changing as I get tempted by new things, but this is a modern yet classic design which won’t date – there’s also a matching ring here and some stunning earrings here too! #verytempted

So back to the afternoon tea and I’m pretty obsessed with the interior of the Ivy Brasserie which is an old bank that’s been beautifully renovated.

Far too pretty to eat? Errrrr…. no and little pots of molten chocolate heaven they were too!

There were beautiful sandwiches too but I’m afraid we ate those so quickly there was no time for a photo 😉

Walking the cake off afterwards, it was a beautiful Autumn day in the park…. I loved looking up at that bright blue sky!

I knew I loved diamonds for a reason 😉

I would have tea at the brasserie every day if I could! I also love stripes and just bought an a-line dress with statement sleeves and pearl embellishments. Wear it with my thick-soled slipons. So comfy!!
