I’m lucky that I spend quite a lot of time away from the UK, but I especially love heading to the sun when the cold weather hits!
I travel pretty light because I have stuff abroad, but always end up taking a few new outfits with me – which is usually maxi dresses because I can wear them pretty much anywhere for any occasion.
I like to find good quality jersey dresses because they’re quite cool in the hot weather, super comfy as they have a nice bit of stretch and I find if you go for the slightly heavier, higher quality material jersey dresses they feel soft, hang nicely and pack and wash well too.
Before I left the UK I was sent a couple of dresses by Swimwear 365 – I’ve often looked at their site for bikinis but somehow didn’t realise they sell a ton of dresses too and there are so many nice ones it was really difficult to choose!
I decided on this lovely tie dye bandeau dress for something quite loose and casual – I love the pockets on the skirt and thought it would be good to go from beach to bar … find it here. They also sell it in plain colours, the khaki one is gorgeous…
…and I also chose a nice, bright colour block maxi by Monsoon…see it here.
Messy hair, a magazine and a glass of fizz in the daytime definitely gives me holiday vibes!
Climbing on rocks, walking in waves and watching the sun set over the sea… so relaxing.
The one downside to travelling at this time of year is that you can pretty much guarantee people are going to be coughing and sneezing on the plane…and its sooo easy to pick up a bug spending hours rammed together in a tin can. There’s nothing worse than getting sick on precious days away, so there’s a few things I’ve learned to do after flying so often – I always take anti bacterial wipes with me and as soon as I get on the plane I wipe down my chair, seat belt, window and tray table…. it might sound a bit obsessive but it was a tip I was given a while ago and it really seems to work.
So aswell as clothes, the other thing I do is take a few vitamins away with me. I always have high strength Vitamin C, here, and at moment I’m taking iron too because I’ve been feeling quite tired, here – I don’t think my diet has been good enough in the last few months where life has been so hectic!
I usually take any favourite hair stuff that I cant get abroad too and a couple of pieces of statement jewellery to jazz up daytime outfits for the evening…
Of course you also need a good holiday bag too right?! 😉 I recently treated myself to this snake print Guess number and haven’t stopped using it… it’s actually 2 bags in one so you’ve got a smaller clutch for the evenings too.
So here’s to many more hours staring out to sea…
… and some happy, sunshine filled days for all of us!
Are you escaping anywhere this Winter?
If so, let me know where you’re headed!
Many thanks to my Photographer, Nick Chester, for a lovely sunset shoot.
