The Duchess of Cambridge Swears by it…

I’ll be honest, I was kind of determined not to like this product – because I get sent quite a lot of beauty items to review and when something has a huge amount of hype around it, quite often I find it’s overrated… so when I was told the Duchess of Cambridge uses this facial oil and it had sold out for weeks as a result, I jumped to the conclusion that it wouldn’t live up to expectations…. and I’m not afraid to admit I was totally wrong – this stuff has saved my skin since I flew back to the UK and was literally smacked in the face by Winter!

I only feature products on the blog that I would confidently recommend and I have to say I would like everyone I know to buy this oil and here’s why…

Firstly, I don’t think I’ve ever come across a beauty product that’s specifically sold as being ‘anti-inflammatory’ which I found intriguing….and therefore it’s meant to be great for people with acne or eczema, any kind of skin complaint that needs to be soothed and calmed.

When I flew back to the UK my skin was looking pretty rough – I had little tiny bumps under the surface of the skin where sun cream had aggravated it and unusually for me, I had dry patches on my cheeks. The skin on my face generally felt a bit ‘unbalanced’ and I had broken out in spots on my forehead and cheeks.

So the very first evening I got home, I used a gentle toner followed by this oil and although it felt nice being applied to my skin, I didn’t expect any visible results – certainly not immediately anyway but I woke up the next morning and my spots were clearly not as red. I was really quite shocked.

I continued to use the oil morning and night – effectively as my moisturiser – and within 3 days my skin was looking really smooth, soft and calm…. the dry patches had disappeared, my spots were virtually gone with no new ones appearing and my skin had got its general glow back…. super impressed!

The oil feels quite light on the skin and has a slightly earthy smell. I love using plant-based products because the scent always reminds me of a spa so  feels indulgent, like a treat in some way.

Facial oils are great because they can be used for daily moisture but also as treatments once a week so you can adjust your skin care routine depending on your skin type and the time of year.

The Beauty Sleep Elixir is 100% natural containing 14 plant oils, 98% of which are organic – I love that there are no chemicals in it whatsoever!

The brand say their skincare products have “anti-inflammaging at the heart, free from chemicals and irritants but full of goodness and proven actives to deliver results” and that the oil contains “a blend of Omegas , Super antioxidents , vitamins and minerals along with proven actives to give a truly powerful health boost to skin, along with anti-inflammaging properties to reduce the signs of ageing and help protect skin from future ageing.”

Its costs £42 for 30ml and you only need two drops per use, unless you want to apply a little more as a treatment.

Most people use it just of an evening – hence the beauty sleep name, and I’ve started doing that now my skin has improved so much.

It’s received rave reviews in the press – the Duchess of Cambridge apparently keeps it beside her bed and has recommended it to her sister in law Meghan… it was recently featured by the Daily Mail here …. and my humble opinion now joins theirs – it’s fantastic!

So yes, I believe this oil is totally worth the hype and I would highly recommend it to any of you who have problems with irritated skin or spots, want to give your face a bit of a boost and glow or are interested in natural skincare and anti- ageing products.

This isn’t an ad, my views are my own – you can find out more and shop the oil here or by clicking on any of my pics!

This sounds super interesting and very well made. IT is fascinating that it is listed as a Sleep Elixir.

I love it when products actually live up to the hype! Thanks for testing it out. Glad you had such a good experience! Remind me, what’s your skin like normally?

Yes it’s a great product! My skin is normal but a little sensitive! X

I have to admit I’ve not heard of this before and have obviously completely missed the hype! But I’m intrigued to hear how beneficial you’ve found it. I might have to keep an eye out for it…

When you were using it morning and night, did you just use toner and then the oil? You didn’t use any of your regular routine? I ask because I tried it with my regular products and everything pilled under it. I didn’t try it on its own, perhaps I should? Thank you.

Hi Martha…ah ok yes I cleansed and toned, then used it instead of my moisturizer and nothing else. I have applied other things over the top of it though and it’s fine, so I think if you want to use a serum or moisturiser put the oil on first? X
